About the SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge

What began as a way to get women of all ages, shapes and sizes together to enjoy a run, the SPAR Women’s Challenge brand has become heralded as an undisputed leading athletics brand in the country, alongside the likes of the Comrades and Two Oceans Marathons.

From humble beginnings to one of the world’s biggest road races; the SPAR Women’s Challenge is the most popular and inclusive road race in South Africa, attracting the country’s top professional female athletes and thousands of recreational runners. This year the Challenge is making history once again by expanding its borders to include Namibia.

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity, and there is a plethora of opportunity for creativity amidst the current challenges that we face. Due to the global climate, the SPAR Women’s Challenge 2022 is unable to proceed as usual with a traditional Challenge and therefore we will once again host an incredible online event – the SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge!

HOW IT WORKS

Over the years, the SPAR Women’s Challenge has brought women from all walks of life together, to make a difference
in our communities and this year will be NO DIFFERENT!

This year we will once again be hosting a Virtual Challenge.

What is a Virtual Challenge?
It is a virtual fitness challenge that can be completed anywhere, at anytime, by anyone. Runners and walkers can participate and choose the distance they want to run or walk.

Join us on Saturday 3 September 2022 anytime between 6 AM and 6 PM.

You can run, jog, or walk your own virtual challenge, at your own pace, from any location you choose.

*Subject to government lockdown regulations.

LIMITED to
60 000 ENTRIES

2022 THEME

The last two years have provided many challenges and obstacles, and we have had to adjust and adapt. Many have been left depleted – financially, emotionally and psychologically. Last year the SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge encouraged you to push past your boundaries and live beyond the limits you set for yourself and others impose on you. This year we are challenging you to rise, like a phoenix from the ashes, reborn, re-energised, refreshed and refilled. Rise above the challenges, struggles and obstacles that block your path, find your wings and fly. #IRise.

Despite the difficulty, the pain and countless tries.
Still, like air, I rise and…

2022 CHARITY BENEFICIARY

Many young girls in rural South Africa cannot afford basic hygiene products, such as pads. For all these young girls, getting their period means missing school.

This year your entry fee will be used to help SPAR’s Petals Project, in partnership with various charities across the country, to donate packs of sanitary pads that will help keep girls in school.

Your contribution will not only help these girls to break through these challenges, but also call upon women to rise above them.

No longer will young girls have to miss school because of their monthly cycle.

Virtual Challenge Pack

Limited to 60 000 Entries! T-shirt sizes are limited to specific regions and to inventory availability.
